SOME WORDS ABOUT US

LOGHI FARM

The Loghi farm is located in the town of Montalcino, home to the famous Truffle of the Crete Senesi, the great Brunello di Montalcino and Orcia wines.
The farm Loghi extends in a quiet and uncontaminated valley where nature takes its primordial form giving the landscape a unique rural appearance and a perfect territory for the production of great wines and the most delicious and sought truffles in the world.

The Berni Family comes from a history linked to this territory and this land, the first historical traces attest that for more than 200 years ago his ancestors cultivated these lands as sharecroppers and for four generations we collect the precious white truffles of the Crete Senesi.

The family-run company was founded at the end of the eighties by Gianfranco Berni who decides to invest in agriculture by unifying the link with the territory and its origins. Gianfranco immediately invests in truffle farming making himself a promoter of this unique product.

Everything takes another shape in the 2000s when his son Valentino after having obtained an agronomic training decides to take over the company driven by his passion for the territory and its products.

The company grows rapidly by expanding its truffle land, wine production and olive oil field; in addition, in 2014 it goes to organic production to continue to certify respect for the territory and sustainability.
Today the company Loghi is a leader in the export of the precious truffle of the Crete Senesi, its wines and the famous Tuscan extra virgin olive oil.

The Loghi farm produces Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, Orcia DOC and IGT Toscana, in addition to an excellent extra virgin olive oil, and finally the famous truffles of the Crete Senesi.

The method on which fundamentally underpins the company’s work relative to wine production is that of a constant monitoring of the vineyards and a careful selection of grapes in the respect of the natural environmental cycles.

By the same principle they followed the work processes in the cellar, trying to make the best quality characteristics of the original product and without altering them but exalting its possibilities.

The Loghi farm produces Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino, Orcia DOC and IGT Toscana.

The company produces wines respecting the Tuscan tradition with ancient flavors using a modern technology that projects the wine in a contemporary dimension.

The vineyards are mainly composed of native vines including the most present and valued SANGIOVESE but there are also some international varietes that for decades are now the heritage of our productions.

Wine production is a practice that has been engaging the family for generations as a traditional custom but since 2006 opening the cellar “Loghi” and bottling the first wine ” Rosso Cinabro ” Valentino change his job in a business opened also to the international markets.

In the early years there have been some experiments and some little difficulty, but it has now reached a very satisfied quality result that manages to keep every year without undergoing changes and any aggression caused by climatic effects.

When the production cycle is completed our mission by the introducing of the product is mainly to highlight the added value of a quality product that reflects and enhances all a productive and biological cycle founded on respect for the land and the human passion that underlies.
